ABOUT
Julie Willbond, she/her
BSW, RSW, MSW
Julie brings a gentle temperament, quick wit, and deeply caring presence to her work as a therapist. A Registered Social Worker with a master's degree in social work and 17 years of practice, she's worked with individuals and families at all stages of life.
She and Deb worked together in community health for years, which means they've seen a lot, laughed through plenty, and built the kind of trust that comes from doing hard work alongside each other. Her experience spans intimate partner violence support, youth outreach, case management, community mental health, and community development.
Julie helps people develop skills, self-compassion, and explore emotions as they navigate life transitions, trauma, loss, and the complexities of being human. Her approach is client-centred, anti-oppressive, and strengths-based, integrating Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She's also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which helps people process distressing symptoms associated with traumatic experiences.
She believes finding the right fit matters and offers a free 15-minute consultation to those interested in working with her.
When she's not in session, you'll find Julie laughing with the people she loves and finding lightness wherever she can.
Sessions: $170 | Covered by extended health benefits
Julie sees clients at the Perth office and virtually on a secure platform. Please reach out to Julie for more info or to arrange a free consult: julie@bendwellness.org
