ABOUT
Michaela Norgren, she/her
MSW Candidate, Intern, Carleton University
With an educational background in Biochemistry and Sustainable Agriculture and now in her final term of a Master of Social Work (MSW) at Carleton University, Michaela brings a systems-thinking lens to her work and practice.
Grounded in wholistic wellness and recognizing the role of community, land and spirit in healing, Michaela is curious about the meaning we get from our various lived experiences. Michaela has utilized land-based programming and art advocacy as tools for social change and community wellness, especially through her previous work with the Students on Ice Foundation and her social initiative Laughing Radish. She has spent the last 6 years supporting leadership development in youth, walking alongside Elders and fostering connection between people, place and wellbeing.
Michaela will be providing Therapy for teens and adults while completing her placement her with us. She will also be providing Systems Navigation to clients who are seeking support in accessing additional supports.
She is excited to work with the Bend Wellness team and hopes to continue to build community within the greater Perth region.
